I had one nut fall off when I had around 7,000 miles on my 06. The other stud then proceeded to break. Fortunately I was still under warranty and the dealer took care of it so I was not trying to remove the broken stud.

Those nuts do loosen up over time and also rust. I suggest putting a socket on them from time to time to ensure they are tight.
