Boy oh Boy, I sure love my 05 sporty. I've owed it for just about 2 weeks now and can't get enough riding. I'll be honest, I'mnot to fond of the color black. Seems like I'm always seeing new blemishes on it. Maybe a new paint job this up-coming winter. Whats a good color thatwouldn't show all the flaws?Let the games begin!!!

Congrats! For the color, as long as it isn't dark, it is easy to handle. Look at my bike, when I polish, I work hard on the black color only lol. For black color, never dry wipe, use quick detailer and terrycloth.

 

I am biased towards the aztec orange, i opted out of a new pewter pearl sportster because i saw mine at a dealer and (it was cheap ). as for the color it was run for 2 years (claims the dealer) 2000-2002 there arent really any problems with the paint, no blemishes, no swirl marks and its going to be 8 years old in the winter, more than i can say for my black car, its got swirlmarks, but no real big blemishes or fade spots but its gonna be three years old in the winter. Black Paint is also a reason for me hating my dirt road so much because after i spend hours washing my car dust gets all over it and looks like crap but with the aztec orange ive washed the bike 1/3 of the times as the car. Besides the orange looking good (especially in the sun) the paint is a one step process so its not that labor intensive for a bodyshop so it wont cost you nearly as much as the heavy flake paint jobs that some of the other harley colors are.

 

Most of my other vehicles are Black, and I prefer Black Harley's as well...

Sure, Black finishes are harder to keep clean than other colors, but to me nothing looks better than a Black & Chrome Harley.

black may be the hardest to keep clean, but IMO looks the best. oh, i forgot. its also the fastest. just ask anyone witha black bike.
