Running Boards?

Running Boards?
Is there anywhere to get running boards for the 1200C that can replace the foot pegs? I have a buddy at work who has a V-Star 1100, and he swears that running boards are the cat's pajamas.
But, as far as I can tell, you can only get pegs for the sporty.
So, are running boards really all that great, and if so, can they be installed on a sporty?

RE: Running Boards?
My brother has a V-star 1300, loves the boards. You should do a mock-up with plywood or something before forking over the bills for the real thing. At least I would, but that's 'cause I'm a cheeep bastid.
I went with an HDflame peg; a little wider and flatter than the stock peg, I like them a lot.

RE: Running Boards?
Where has anyone heard that they are 'shortening the wheelbase' on any of the Sportster models?
All Sportsters have a pretty short wheelbase, but the "C" models have the longest wheelbase/length of any of the Sportsters.
The specifications for the 2007 1200C and 2004/2005/2006 models are identical;
Length ~ 90.3"
Wheelbase ~ 60.4"
Rake & Trail ~ 30.1 degrees and 4.7"
By the way, every Harley that I've owned since the early 1970's has had the regular forward control pegs, but after a few months of riding my Softail FatBoy (with floorboards and forward cruise arms) I'd never go back to the peg setup.
The floorboards allow all kind of room for moving your feet around to an unlimited number of comfortable positions.
