hi, i am getting a new seat in a couple of days, is there any hints or help when it comes to taking the OE 2 up seat off of a 2006 883 custom? thanks

 

I don't have an '06, but on my '03, I simply removed the rear screw at the back of the seat, gently lifted up and back toward the rear of the bike. On the front of my seat there is a bracket that slides into another on the frame -just behind the tank.

I'm sure someone witha new bike will chime in shortly

 

Remove rear seat screw. Lift up on the rear of the seat 1-2", push seat forward about 1" and continue lifting the rear of the seat. Reverse the process to install the new seat.

 

As above (cHarley), to the letter. Enjoy the new comfort of the seat.

When I put the pillow top on my 05 I didnt think it fit to short to line up fender hole then had my wife sit on seat and it pushed back just enough to line up perfect.It was about 1/2 -3/4 inch off.Hopethis helps
