Get rid of it and the charcoal can. Plug the vacuum line to the carburetor or manifold. Mine went to the carb, just put a vacuum cap on it. If there is a hose to the aircleaner, plug that one off too at the aircleaner. The gas vapors get sucked into the carb, so plugging that is most important. The hose to the aircleaner just provides fresh air to clear the charcoal. The vapors come from the gas tank. Without the gas tank connected, the whole thing becomes useless.

Just make sure to cap any vacuum port on your carb or manifold. Mine has been like that for 27 years without a problem. All it does is scavenge gas tank vapors, like when it's sitting outside on a hot day.

Your carb probably has a vacuum line to the fuel tank petcock too. Make sure that one stays connected and in good shape. Otherwise you will get no gas flow.

Very common to delete the charcoal can. Minor surgery.

Yes, cap off both of the carb vacuum ports. You have a MAP sensor so you should have no vacuum line to a VOES ignition vacuum switch. It usually "T's" off the line to your petcock if you had one. You should have a small sensor on top of your intake manifold that replaces the VOES.
