It's listed on Ronnie's Microfiche as having a -08 part number, so they have been using this rotor for a while. It's also listed as available from what I could see.

Possibly due to weather changes and riding in winter weather, or from repeatedly having to slam my brakes because nobody can see a motorcycle and pulls out in front of me, my rear rotor was out of round and caused the bike to wobble.

When I couldn't find the part on the HD parts website, I gave them a call. The woman on the line told me that the part I was seeking had been discontinued as of Feb 2018, which of course I was upset at. There were still a few available from distant dealerships, but I would have to call and acquire them from the dealerships and none were close by. (My closest dealer is an hour away. The dealers she offered me were in different states) According to their system, she didn't know if any other parts Harley offered would fit. In my head I'm screaming "that's effing illegal! You don't know what you're doing", but in reality I thanked her for her time and decided on an aftermarket product, since HD couldn't be bothered to supply the correct part.

When I got the EBC brake from JP cycles, it didnt fit because it is 11.5 inches and oem is 10.24. I called JP and they insisted it is the only size they sell for my model. Understandably frustrated, I came here and finally got some form of a correct answer. It worked. I'm happy.

It's a moot point now, but you had the unfortunate luck of talking to all the wrong people .

Can't even imagine that they are unavailable from the dealer (many many bikes got those rotors)...and they show up on the online parts people
EDIT: They are still putting them on 2018s (see below)

...And the EBC catalog is screwed up with incorrect listings.

You would have only been able to get a Solid Rotor from EBC (like you have already, but different color), but it would have been # MD524

it may have been that the older style was superseded and that's why they said unavailable but, never trust dealers. they rarely go beyond whats in that computer in front of them and will fuss you down for questioning them.

That would be understandable if it wasn't for the fact that a 2013 Seventy-Two uses the same exact part# as a 2018 XL1200C (for example)

Dealers... ... or maybe customers ...

.

Sorry haven't been in the Sporty community in a while...came back since I haven't seen posts from cvaria.

I am glad the caliper relocation to accept a larger rotor worked out for you. Ride on!

BTW, the smaller and thicker rotor is also used on the XR1200, hence the 08 PN

The other, and perhaps better, alternative is to use the new style smaller rotor with the new 14+ 2 piston calliper, spacer, and calliper bracket.

You will have to spot face the calliper bracket 1mm to centre the calliper on the rotor, and open up both the calliper bracket and spacer to fit the older 1 inch axle, but other than that easy and gives you a much better rear brake.

I posted on this here:
