Not mine. There were some who tried to call Sportsters shovel head Sportsters. Didn't work. Blockhead didn't
work and wont work now.

Man, that's an incredible chrome job. Looks a lot better that I would have expected. I wonder what the guys other vehicles look like?

I can't think of any known issues. The clutch spring plate (part of clutch pack) can have issues, but it seems to affect the later (2004 up) rubbe mounted engine models more than ours. Yours should be good for many happy miles. Enjoy. Get some dark sunglasses, I can only imagine what a blast of sun off that tank could do to your vision at the wrong time.

John
Cool, glad to hear yours is still running strong! Yeah, dark sunglasses for sure. Safety first!

There are some on here that have over 100,000 miles on their evolution motors and one who has over 200,000 miles. Mine is hot-rodded to 110 HP and never gives me a bit of trouble. Its a joy to ride. Some say its the best engine Harley ever made.

Hello: another new member here. Bought my first HD last July at age 63 after 25 years without a bike. 1997 XLH 1200, 41,000 mi. I love it. Runs great. Lots of power, great sound. I just have to get used to the interesting noises it makes.

I always thought the "Blockhead" name was horrible. So glad it didn't stick.

Maybe Alloyhead, or.........Metallhead? Metal Alloy Head. I like it!

I can't bring myself to repeat the 'B' word, it's so awful! 'Evo' is just fine - we've had it since the mid-80s, so no need to change it now.
