Iron 883 handle bars options
#12
Found this forum looking for brake cable guidance. Can you tell me what you go to switch out? I've got mini apes I'm planning to install and have been told doing the brake line is a good idea. Thanks for any insight!

Risers/ODI mount
I love your setup. I switched out to a 5.5in riser with 1in pull back on my 883, but the unicorn odometer is driving me nuts. What kind of bracket did you use to mount the Odometer that way?? I love it.

are billet aluminum 'cable clamps' on each riser tube, adjusted to the height that
I wanted the gauge to be. I'll try to find a pic that shows the clamps a bit better.
The fender washers & rubber/fiber washers are an attempt to distribute/dampen
the load on the mounting 'ears' since these mounts all have the tendency to crack
there at some point in time...

I am looking for options on my Iron. I had a chance to ride the new street bob with M8, and while it is not in my budget, I liked the more laid back feel of the mini-apes (maybe even roll them back a little more).
My question to the forum is what others have done here with the Iron. I am not looking for the "fists in the wind" thing, rather a more relaxed less forward leaning riding position. It is pretty expensive so I am trying to learn about different options

Depends on your height also. I'm a kinda short 5' 7" and I'll probably put 48 special bars on my standard 48. (tall boys I think)?
I've ridden my dyna with it's stock mini apes from Arizona to Canada twice at a fairly good clip without any windsheild. I just rotate the bars forward a bit from straight inline with the forks for a bit of a tuck. I can't imagine a ride without some wind blocking device to be any more comfortable for long days at high speed!
