Default Mustang vintage solo seat

Hi

I would be grateful if the owners of the Mustang vintage standard and wide solo seat on a 4.5 gallon tanked Sportster could take some measurements please and maybe show them with a picture?

I asked Mustang direct but have not got an answer.

I was hoping to find out the overall width at the widest point and the length from the front to where the seat rises, so just the bit where your bum fits.

Is the seat higher that what is on a Superlow would you know please?

Wink

Andy, we have a few threads on 'touring' Sporties, where you can see Mustangs on bikes - while we await amore replies!

Thanks, I am sure the pictures on the bikes will help.

The seat on my Superlow has a seat area outlined by stitching that measures around 12" but the overall width of the seat is 14.5".

The mustang website describes the front width as 14.5" on the wide. Where is that measurement made?

I tried the Sundowner seat but it was slightly longer and so I wasn't as comfortable and slid around a bit on it.

Thanks,
Andy

I also have a SuperLow, but still use the stock seat, with an air cushion on top, so haven't actually used a recent Mustang. We need a passing owner.....

I have the seat, it sits about an inch higher than the stock seat on my 05 883C. No pics though.

Thanks.

A sunny day in Scotland - nice.

What I am looking at is either the standard or wide solo and then getting the wide pillion.

If the wide front is what I want then they do the whole seat as wide.

The standard seat for me is fine and I have no trouble with it.

My pillion is not so happy though.

Having tried the Sundowner the pillion part was good for her.

Not sure what you are trying to figure out...

I got the regular MVS for the 4.5 gallon tank on my Nightster. Chose that over the one for 3.3 gallon tank because I wanted to maintain the gap. I use the Mustang wide rear seat/pillion for the back.

If you took a tape measure (or similar) and placed it across the widest part of the seat and took a picture and then placed the tape measure lengthways and took a picture that is all I would like to see please?

It seems asking these questions of Mustang direct is beyond them or beneath them to reply to my request.

For a company to just state a seat is 12.5 or 14.5 inches wide is not the whole story.

One of the main things I would like to know is the measurement from the front to where it rises in order to compare that to the HD OEM seat.

It is also good to know the wide back fits to the standard front, thank you for the information.
