Default Where did this rear fender come from?

I bought this bike a couple of days ago to have something to tinker with. The rear fender has me puzzled though - is this factory?? The title shows the bike to be a 2006 Sportster 883 Low, but all the pictures I've found of this model on the Internet have a standard rounded rear fender, rather than this ducktail arrangement. Anyone know?

Yes, it is/was a factory option. I remember seeing it listed in the OEM Accessories Catalog a few years back.

Edit: Here's one on eBay

I never liked those up swept rear fenders but that's just me. They are out there if you like them.

I'm not crazy about it either. But I'll probably keep it, as it would be too involved to replace it with a standard fender and match the paint.

I hate bobtail fenders, but enough people seem to like them that you may find someone willing to swap you theirs for it.

I love those things because you can set **** on top of them.

This one came off a Dyna, you just gotta' cut it to fit.

That one looks like a Wide Glide fender.
