I have the custom dynamics H4 LED which was a lot better than the halogen. I decided to try the sunpie and it threw a slightly brighter spot on a wall so I ran with that for a month or so. Then I did a comparison by looking back at the bike like 10 feet away and noticed the H4 led actually lit up and fills the full bulb much better then the sunpie which makes it more visible to on coming traffic so I'm keeping the H4 for now.

I find, at least personally, that the bright blueish/white LED headlights emit catch my attention much faster even in daytime than the yellowish halogens do.

I was referring to custom dynamics H4 led. My opinion is better than sunpie.

So an LED bulb will work with the metal shield in front of the bulb, or is it part of the stock/factory bulb? I figured it was part of the headlight assembly so I didn't think an LED bulb would work.

Yes, DK LED fits inside stock HD 5 3/4" headlamp. I don't know why I said custom dynamics.
Oh well...Been running a year now no problem at all and very easy install.

I checked out the Wisamic on Amazon yesterday and when I added it to my cart they gave me a promotional discount and same day shipping so I got it to my door last night for $38 so I figured why not.

It has no problem fitting in the housing on my 2012 1200 72. I have a deeper headlight housing than my brother's iron, which is likely why it doesn't have fitment issues with the plug. The only issue I have with it is it is a little loose after tightening the clamp still. I have to stop at the store today and pick up some weatherstripping to take care of the slight gap that is causing the fitment issue. Other than that, I'm happy for $38.

I did the same after reading your post. Here is what the beam formation looks like:

I wish the area between the front wheel and where the beam hits the ground was brighter. I spent a few nights adjusting whatever I could, to no avail. In the above pic, old sporty is on a front wheel chock, with a water level attached to the handlebar, just to be sure that it's as straight as I can get it to be.

Oh well, I guess I shouldn't complain for $38.
