Hey guys,
I have a '05 1200 Custom Sportster and I am trying to swap out my 21" front tire for a 19" one. The reason that I'm thinking of doing this is that I've heard you get better handling and will also get more miles out of the tires...
My question is are there certain things that I will have to take in to consideration when making this swap? Or do I just have to get the 19" wheel and install? Would love to hear any advice/feedback you guys have to offer.
Thanks in advance!
(also, I am going to attach a couple pictures of my bike just for reference purposes)
Need to get similar year wheel from a different model perhaps 19" cast so the axle size is the same. You may need to play with spacers to align correctly. I think Customs came with 21" spoke wheels but not too sure which model has a 19" spoke if any.
Given that useful piece of information, I can add that the 2007 XL1200L models come stock with 19" fronts. So, if OP can get that wheel, it should fit.

Thanks for the info guys! So if i get a 2000-2007 front wheel it should be a clean swap? Will I have to change the forks, spacers, etc.? I'm trying to get a general idea of any issues I may face when trying to make the switch before I go in to it
