s&s teardrop
have been trying ty decide on an air cleaner for my 07 1200r , has anyone put a se air kit on their o7 , i have read a lot of negative comments. (pinholes. warping backplates, etc about earlier years, has this been corrected for the fuel injected models ?i iinstalled a set of python 3 slip ons last weekend , how complicated of an install is the se air cleaner kitin comparison to installing the slip ons , also i have heard good things about the s&s teardrop air cleaner , but cant seem to find anyone who sells them , any advice would be appreciated. by the way just a very little bit of popping on deceleration with just the slip ons , and man are they loud , but not bad at all at cruising speeds

RE: s&s teardrop
The SEAC fileter problems are all but resolved. There was a bad batch of filters and most are gone. There is a slim chance you'll get one nowadays but even if you did, Harley will replace it for you so no loss.
Installation is simple, perhaps easier than the mufflers.
Opinions of course vary widely but for the average rider the SEAC is a good choice. There is a lot of discussion over which aftermarket AC's flow best. The bottom line is that nearly all flow better than stock. The debate is by how much and the reality is that those differences are generally very minute. The real significant and major differences are how much more you want to pay and how it looks on the bike.
I can't help with the S&S AC for 07's. I have no idea if they have adapted that AC for use on an EFI bike. Shouldn't be hard, just involves the backing plate really. I'd recommend checking J&P, Custom Chrome, Dennis Kirk, Jireh, etc. If they are available, those guys will have them.
Good luck.
