Dropped bike

Fix the iron, park it, buy a dirt bike, learn to ride, take out the Iron...JMO.
I know's it's a "dead horse" but this is why you don't get the dream bike as a learner. 883's have plenty of power/torque to control...as yuo found out.
Did you hit the curb w/wheel? Might want to have the bike checked over by a m/c service shop, to ensure there isn't unseen damage to forks/frame...tank took a good hit.

[QUOTE=Luxurous;16783404]Holding down the clutch didn’t help as every time I tried to break the throttle would be engaged. There was curb coming up in a few feet and was going too fast so I had to drop her to save my own. /QUOTE]
Why would the clutch not work?....is your clutch malfunctioning? If you pulled your clutch while you were throttling, it would have revved like in neutral. Something you may want to check.
As someone mentioned, if you hit the curb, get your front wheel and fork checked to be sure it did not bend.
Just a FYI - use emergency stop when throttle get stuck or something similar - turn off bike using start switch or pull clutch and use both brakes.
Sh*t happens....as Forest Gump would say.
Glad you were not hurt and can get back on the saddle.

Schedule MSF course right away and get your bike checked over by a certified mechanic while you take the course.
Don't ride (your bike) again until you do. Drop theirs while learning instead of yours.
Something isn't adding up. Either you have a mechanical issue (pre-dropping - possibly clutch related) or you can really use the training. Maybe both (def the latter).
Dust yourself off, and get back out there after you've done the above. No big whoop - could have been much worse.
