Question Police Sporty

I only found out about this thing recently...and wow, I kind of want one. 883 Sporty with crash bars and a full tour pack, even has the turn signals where they should be from the factory-just needs a pair of Road King or Roadster shocks and a windshield to be perfect. So, has anyone ever actually seen a police Sporty? I haven't...even some H-D dealer people don't know about them.

Police Sporty? Why is it called a police sporty? It doesn't have police lights....is it because it is white and black? I haven't seen one like it...but seem like some simple mods.

Sporties can be easily modified to make it your own. Check out this sporty bagger thread:

It is called that because it is the Sportster XL883L Police model. LINK

The mods might be simple...but they are not cheap! (Something like $2000 just for the needed parts.)

Probably makes sense in tight city conditions.

But, what's with the compression ratio??:

Compression Ratio. 0.375694444444444

LOL thanks....never saw one at the dealership. I guess not a high demand model.

I suspect many dealer employees do not even know they exist.

Same as any other 883, I expect. No idea what's up with that.

This was a H-D dealer...neither guy I talked to had hard of them. (I only knew about them because I saw them on a H-D model poster.)

Did they use them AFTER the Ford Administration?
