IMO, HD leather gear is not gay. HD leather gear is well made, stylish , of good quality and somewhat expensive.
HD changes their styles all of time and I am rather impressed with what they have to offer.
What is gay is metricriders wearing Harley gear.
I agree with your last statement! Metrics in HD gear... heck, if they want to look the part, they ought to have the sense to buy the real scooter, beause they're not fooling anyone. [:'(]

Funny I have quite a few friends in the local clubs in the milwaukee area. I know of many, including the presidents of a few of em who wear Dew-rags and fingerless gloves, leather boots, and chaps if the weather requires them. And you will be very hard Pressed to see any of em without at least their vests on since it is protocol to wear their "colors" wherever they go with the exception of maybe their job. Is that gay?
Why don't you (the people who thinkchaps and gloves and whatever elseare gay) come on down to Milwaukee or DousmanWI to one ofthe local events.. Or maybelet metake you to one or twoof the clubhouses and see how long you keep that opinion.
With that said.... wear what you want and F#@k what whatever anyone else thinks.
Nuff said.

Who the hell cares if you look gay? Looking gay and acting gay are two different things.
If you act gay, well then you might have a problem with your buddies.
Sorry but I think chaps look HOT on men and women!

HD Style Guide Purchasing your bike is fairly simple....just be sure to get at least a Softail cause a Dyna will make you look CHEAP. And a Sportster will get you ridiculed as ridin a CHICK BIKE...also, steer clear of the Deluxe..that's now known as a RICH CHICKS bike. You can get a Bagger but be prepared to have people call you OLD...or just plain LAZY. If you want to do some real speed get a V-rod..of course it won't be considered a REAL Harley so don't get upset when you snubbed on the road...whatever you do though don't get a bike with fringes on the handlebars...people say that looks GAY..and be careful if you have studs on the bags since that could also get ya labeled as one of those "Village People" types..especially if combined wear the wrong attire..
Be sure to purchase a good helmet; just know you'll be considered a PU*SY if you ride with one in a no-helmet state. Also, make sure it's a half, shorty or less or nobody will wave at ya on the road and you'll be treated like a leper at the poker runs. As far as color choice I would recommend black or black. White is out since it'll make you look like one of the guys from Chips..shield are out also- they make you look like a RICER. A Fullface helmet is the safest helmet of course - assuming you equate safety with "safe sex"..as in NONE since no member of the opposite sex will talk to you at your favorite watering hole if you ride up with one on.
As far as riding attire goes it's pretty straightforward...
You could opt to wear a cool biker vest - just make sure you have plenty of patches on it or you'll look like a POSER. If in doubt, drag it down the road behind your car for a mile or so - then you can just simply buy the "I Wrecked" patch and be done with it. Also, keep the patches simple on the back and don't combine otherwise you could be taken for a 3 patch club member and be hassled by the cops or worse get you're butt stomped by a real member..Also, make sure it doesn't have a big modern Harley Davidson logo on it or you could be mistaken for a POSER..if it looks new then....RUB.
If you decide to go with a full sleeve jacket be aware that denim will make you look like a POSER..and a cheap one at that..anything with pads will make you like you're a RICER..(if you do use a jacket with pads...DO NOT slump forward when you ride or you'll look like a SQUID from a distance.) If in doubt - see the car dragging suggestion above...
You can always skip the jacket and simply wear a t-shirt..here again I would recommend either black or black. If you choose another color then make sure it's NOT a PLAIN white one or you'll be ridiculed as a "FONZ"..stay away from anything that say's Harley Davidson unless it's really faded..otherwise you'll look like a POSER..if it's expensive..RUB.
For lower wear most people suggest wearing jeans since anything with cotton thinner than raw denim could be confused for dockers and that WILL get you laughed at (and ruled a RUB)..if you wear jeans make sure they're not Levis though!..I'm told they're non-union now (or at least made overseas..) so you could tick off the AFL-CIO members doing the casino tour. DO NOT wear chaps!..especially the assless one..dig around in the Showdown forum and you'll figure out why..leather pants are gay of course...nuff said. Finally, don't even think about wearing shorts unless you want someone explaining how they scrub you in the hospital with kerosene and rusty steel brushes for roadrash...
As far as other gear goes, you CAN wear gloves..however, if you wear half golves you will be considered GAY..also be VERY careful about what you put on your head..if you wear a doo-rag you could be mistaken for a POSER..even worse, a really nice one'll get ya labeled a RUB...if it says Harley Davidson anywhere on it plan on riding alone...
Finally If all else
