Default Unplugged Cable

Found an unplugged cable under oil box. Is it meant to be unplugged or its an issue that i need to sort out.
Please help...

What year and model is your bike?

That looks like the connector for the cylinder head temp sensor on my 2013 Sportster.
The sensor cable comes out of the top middle of the rocker box covers and the two wires attache behind the plastic cover just to the right of your finger in the first picture. (above if the picture was rotated correctly. )

Its a 2013 superlow. But i think et sensor comes out from the rear cylinder and cable the other end of the sensor is connected to cable which is under battery box.

Mine connects behind that plastic protrusion in front of the oil tank cover. I don't see your head temp wire from the rear head coming down there to it.
