Default Got a Breather Catchcan Under Your A/C?

If you do, have any problem with the fumes venting out of the top of it? I just put mine on yesterday and when idling at a light it's pretty bad. If no one has any suggestions for eliminating the stench guess I'll have to find somewhere else to put the can.

I love the smell but the mist coming from mine had me searching for other options. I ended up routing mine to a breather under the bike. The smell is less and I have no mist on anything. Something like this is what I made.

If you buy something, buy from them. They are the best.

Exact thing I have thanks except for can instead of filter. Had filter on my BT and it was always leaking on the floor so thought I'd try DK's can instead. Like the way it looks under the ac so don't want to move it unless I have to.

I had a catch can under the A/C and at first it sprayed oil mist all over th right side of the bike. I modified it according to how DK does theirs and that did stop the oily mist problem. I ended up routing the breathers under the bike so I wouldn't have to clean the catch can ever so often. Here's a thread where I show/explain what I did.

I routed the breather hoses to the bottom of the bike.....I may place a filter on it some day but for now it is working great.

I have catch can under my A/C and I have no problems. Very little oil in mine. I just wipe it out every 300 mi or so. Seems like the blow by really varies from bike to bike. Not sure if you get more if you ride hard. I got that dyi kit from DK and a catch can if I start having a lot of blow by I can route it down.

Just went and cleaned mine after about 400 mi or so. This is how much oil was in the catch can and filter.

I have used DK external breather bolts on my Outlaw 587 and a velocity stack and customized DK EBS for my Arlen Ness AC.....and I don't smell anything. The external breather bolts did produce a little mist but even then it did not smell. Resolved the mist issue by placing double filters on the breather bolts. Are you sure the smell is coming from the breathers and not your carb/ac?

All I did was take off the stock ac and put on the DK425 with catchcan. So the fact that the breather holes are venting to the can rather than back inside the motor is the only change which pretty much means that's the problem don't you think? But going to eliminate that possibility you mentioned by temporarily moving catch can to rear of bike and see what happens.

I like the smell myself...but, and don't laugh, different oils smell different.

Also, if the bike is running hot it will smell different.

On my Sporty I am currently running to a filter back on the swingarm.
