Default Sportster Front Tire

I have an '06 883xl low with a 19" front wheel. I notice the front fender sits well above the tire and I was wondering if this fender was meant to accomodate up to a 21" wheel And if I were to switch to a bigger wheel would the brake disc be more less the same size and fit the brake caliper where it's mounted or does that disc size change with the wheel size throwing that off?

+1 - but you want one from a 2004-2006 which uses the same size axle & bearings to keep the cost down.

The gap doesn't look any different with a 21" wheel imo. I went from a 21 to a 19 just recently. The brake disc is a direct swap.

Maybe it's because the 21 incher takes a skinner tire. OP might want to try a fatter tire before swapping out the 19 for a 21; like a 110/90-19 instead of the stock 100/90-19.

The 19" tire (100/90-19) has a taller sidewall than the stock 21" tire (MH90), so the overall difference in diameter with the tire mounted on the wheel around 1/4" - 3/8".

I thought a 3/4" axle was used from 2000 thru 2007?
