What mods have to done?

I did a tank lift, wire tuck and didn't realize I pinched a wire to the fuel pump, between the frame and tank. After a few hundred miles, it wore through the casing and caused a short. Engine would turn over, but not start because the fuel pump wasn't working.

When I got it the battery was weak so fitted new one from dealer now it's strong and turns over well but won't start checked system relay and it's not getting triggered by ecm stripped and cleaned ecm and flasher security module and fuses and relays still can't get system relay to trigger

Not sure what year your Sportster is but for 2007-2013:
Have you tried switching the relays?

If you switch the relays and the fuel pump works but it doesn't turn over you have a bad relay. The start relay controls the starter and the system relay controls the fuel pump.

Also check the 15 amp fuses carefully. They may look ok but still be open, use a DVOM to test.

One other note:
After turning ignition off, wait 10 seconds before turning the
ignition back on to get the fuel pump to reprime.

Hi Pete, from not so far away! Is this bike bog stock, or has it had any mods, especially things like a change of handlebars or other electrical changes? The reason I ask is that they are responsible for many electrical problems, all around HDF.
