I've seen these posts around here about the stats that show that riding without a helmet is safer. Can you post a link - I'd like to see these stats. The only stats I've found show that fatalities more than doubled where the laws were repealed --> http://healthresearch.georgetown.edu...helmetlaws.htm

Everyday thinking would say you can't make that argument, but the statistics tell a different story. Statistically, you can make a strong argument that it is no more safe to ride with a helmet.
It doesn't matter, if I had a choice I would most likely wear a helmet about 75% of the time. Just let the rider make the decision.

Check some of the information on the left side on the site, including the "Helmet Hoax" section.

RE: riding without a helmet
Funny story, I finally got my wife on the Sporty last night, first time. She had riden before, but it was a long time ago. She gets off the bike and looks at me and says, " I can relate to a man now". I said, "Really, how?" "Riding with a helmet must be like having sex with a condom on, because this would be a much better experience without it".

RE: riding without a helmet
I work in the motorcycle industry and our company policy is that you must wear a helmet if you ride into work or you could be fired. I live in Illinois which is a no helmet law state which is fine if you don't want to wear one.I personally have too much money invested in my head with student loans. It would be hard to pay those while I'm blowing snot bubbles out of my eye sockets while pissing my diapers because I would have felt so free those seconds leading up to the wreck. I had a guy at work who had ridden for over 40 years, 25k miles a year compare crashing without a helmet to throwing an apple down the street as hard as you can hoping nothing else hits you. I hate the law becuase people should have the choice, but I would not ride without one.
