Rusty, it could be a bad angle in the picture, I had my buddy rode behind me to see the lights and he said they were fine, not blocked. After I find a way to cover the 3 old plate bracket holes, I might put it back behind the seat. You never know! [8D]

Man 128auto! You are doing some great stuff. Always look forward to your posts and mods. Where I work there is a machine shop where the guy has done a ton of mods on his Honda VTX. I may take (steal) some of your ideas and get him to machine me a few things for free!

Looks good!
If you get tired of the bag back there or it starts to scuff up your paint you could always relocte it to the swing arm. I mounted mine down there over a year ago to hold my mini tool kit, etc. I've had it on the forks (above & below the headlight) and slid in between my rear fender & fender struts. And I finally found a home for it.
For me, especially since I don't have any place on the rear fender for it,it works the best for me, here:

Thanks for the heads up, I do have about 1/2" clearance between the bag and fender, I shim the bottom with a piece of rubber, hopefully that's good enough for now. Bag looks good in your picture, your sportster is one of my favorite in this forum, kick A S S . I will chop the fender one day like you did when I am ready to do a custom paint job, maybe a few years later. Alex
