Stock tubeless tires on cast aluminum wheels
(Dunlop® Harley-Davidson Series, blackwall)
– Front – D401F 100/90-19 57H
– Rear – D401 150/80B16 71H
I now have 21" front and 16 rear fat spoke wheels
Metzler 880 frront and Metzler 888 rear - Although I believe these are tubeless tires, I always use tubes on spoke wheels.
-Front 90/90-21 (had to use narrower tires to fit stock fender which was subsequently changed)
-Rear 150/80-16
Both were good tires, but IMO Metzler is a better performing tire. Can't asses longevity at this point.

There are a few $$$$ aftermarket wire spoke wheels that are designed to be used tubeless, but generally speaking, wire spoke wheels need tubes.

Agree with charley....but would still install tube on any spoke wheel. My fat spokes wheels were designed go to tubeless. In fact, I bought the tire the same time I bought the fat spoke and they installed the tubeless tire without a tube. And when it was installed on the bike, it went flat. Installed a tube and no issues since....
I prefer to go tubeless since it is easier to repair at flat on the road, but the type of wheel will dictate whether you go tubeless or not. I did keep my aluminum cast wheels which are tubeless in case my spokes gave me issues.
