I'll throw in and mention the Avon Cobra's.
My 72 came with white walls and when it was time to replace them I wanted to keep it that way but was very limited by who manufactured white walls.
After researching a bit, I felt the Avon's were the possible best choice...

Here's a couple of reviews.

As soon as they arrived I opened the package and felt the tread... Holy Crap... couldn't believe how grippy they were already... and that before scuffing off that sealant/coating.
They've only been installed a short time with just shy of 400 miles on them but I'm VERY pleased with them.
They grip very well, look great and I was shocked how much better they ride.
It was like changing shocks as well as tires.

I have a 2001 XL, always wanted to go old school with a 21" rib tire and a rear with that old "car tire" look tread. Its a $400 commitment so I'm not really sure I'll do it.
I'll probably just go with the Harley type Dunlops.

You can find those Avons pretty cheap used. A lot of people take them off because they don't like the ride. I scored a rear for $50, pretty much brand new.

The sidewalls are soft unlike tubeless tires so you can mount them yourself with some soapy water and some flatheads. Tubes are like $12 online. If you don't want to balance them yourself just take them in for that...be a lot less than paying for the whole mount/balance.
