Default First bike, would like to lower front

Hey everybody, this is my 1993 Sportser. I guess I have two options, raise the back, or lower the front. I would really like to lower the front. Not sure how to go about it. Any advice?

How much do you want to lower it?

Easiest thing is to loosen the pinch bolts at the triples and slide the legs up.

Progressive Suspension has several kits to lower the front end that any shade tree mechanic can handle. I have done two of my bikes this way, both handle better then before. Good luck and give their website a look.

Is there a risk of bottoming out over bumps?

I went on the progressive website, I have to order kits by bike, model and year, but my front end is not stock, in fact I think it is even longer than a stock sportster fork. It's a wide glide, that's all I know.

Again, how much do you want to lower the front?

If you're only looking to lower it about an inch then I'd follow Maverick's advice of loosening the pinch bolts at the triples and sliding the legs up. The risk of 'bottoming out over bumps' is always increased whenever you lower the front end. That's just part of the game.

Also, I am not sure how much I want to lower the front end. How would I determine this? Could I not lower it an inch by the first method suggested? And if i wanted to lower more I could go the progressive way, doing it over and cutting more from the pvc pipe? All I know for now is the front end is too high, not sure what optimal would be sticking with those progressive 11.5s. Is there a best way to do measurements and is there a best front height with respect to the rear?

I would do what you just said...drop it an inch and see how that works for you. Cross the other bridge when/if you get there.
