It looks like you have an "R", so pry the round cover off the top of the headlight's "eyebrow" and you'll see the nut that holds the headlight (3/4" or 17mm - I forget). Use a ratchet wrench to lossen it and then aim it where you want it (as in above reco's), and then tighten the nut and push the "button" back on.

HS4 Sylvania Silver Star lamp is a good one - available at any auto parts store...

Awesome thanks Thumper. It's actually an 883L but im about 99% sure they have the same headlight "eyebrow" you mentioned.

And I'm going to assume to replace the bulb just remove the nut completely and the housing should comeout?

It has been a couple of years since I upgraded the bulb and I honestly don't remember! (CRS!) I think once you get in there it will be intuitive for you. A word of caution although you're probablyfamiliar with Halogen bulbs BUT,DO NOT touch them with your fingers! The oil from your skin (however little) will burn them out fast if you do touch them with bare skin.[:@]

Always Use a soft clean rag to handleHalogen bulbs!!

I just went by what the owners manual said as far as adjusting the headlight.

I adjusted this last night from 25 feet away my light was shining only about 8 inches up the wall. Thanks for the info I can actually see at night now without using my high beams!

Sounds to me that it was 'slightly' out of adjustment. LoL...

I had to readjust ours after we installed cruise on her. It's a real pain in the azz, if you ask me. The 25 feet thing was a joke to me. I took her out in the street at night, sat on her, and then made adjustments from there. Seemed much more practical to me.

I did the 25 foot thing and it worked perfectly fine for me when I took it out last nightm then again anything would have been great after a year of riding with the headlight in the wrong position.

Headlight aiming is done not just for your own good, incoming traffic could get blinded by your misadjusted bright headlight, be respect.

Totally agree! But it's hard to do on the RK. Especially with the passing lamps.
