Default Exhaust! 08 xl1200c

I bought my 2008 Harley Davidson xl1200c a few months ago and it is bone stock. No exhaust, tune, air intake, or fuel system upgrades. She has 13,000 miles on her now and I think it's time for a good exhaust. I was looking at the vance and hines shortshots because it seems to be the best for my value but I also want to get something a little less loud. Was thinking of going with slip ons but I don't want it to be too quiet! LOL what do you guys suggest? On the right.

Some light reading...

http://www.hammerperf.com/ttxlexhaust.shtml

If V&H, then I prefer the Side Shots. Besides everybody has Short Shots.

My 2 cents.

If you are interested in just doing slip-ons... Apparently hard to beat the Rush slip-ons according to Hammer's testing. Those slip-ons were besting most - if not all - the full systems that were tested.

Rush 3 inch slipons. My sportster actually sounds better than the Dulexe.

If u think that slipons can't be loud then u are mistaken. Rush slip ons are available in a few baffle diameters. 1.75, 2.00, and 2.25 are the most common. I liked the 1.75in baffles on my sporty a lot. They were plenty loud. I currnetly have short shots on my bike and I thought the rush pipes were louder.

My bike had the V&H slipons when I bought it. I hate the look, it they sound amazing. It makes it hard to justify buying a new complete system any time soon

Man, Get a can of this and get to work on those trees, levers and brake pedal. I'm sure the shifter looks just as bad. It's great on the chrome too.

^^^ don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure it specifically states on the container not to use on chrome.

Says on the can perfect for all metals, I use it all the time on my chrome. Just don't use it on your lower fork tubes, that's a coating and it will rub off. A bud of mine found that out.

^^^On the backside of the can above the directions it says in red. Not recommended for chrome, painted metals, etc. the perfect for all metals is kinda misleading.

WOW! Didn't know that. I've been using it since 08 and a buddy of mine been using it way before me. My chrome looks the same the day I bought the bike.
