50+ MPG. Just filled up the other day. I had 142 miles on the tripodometer, still hadn't hit reserve, and I saw a place with 93 and individual hoses per octane level, so I decided to fill up. It took 2.75 gallons in it exactly, (that averages it out to 51.5 MPG). All that with the 883 to 1200 conversion, Big Sucker II intake, Bassani exhaust, and riding it like I stole it 25% of the tiime (or more).

I think if your getting MPG on the lower end of thenumbers that have been postedon this topic, you may want to get/need a tune.

My 06 883which isstock, I was getting 40 and 44MPG and have been complaining to the dealer about it and they gave the standard bs about you can't belive the manual which I said is false advertising. I did a 50 mile ride and did get 55MPG with some highway a little stop and go and the rest secondary roads and this is with 87 octane since the manual recomends that for 883's. I still think there is something wrong with the bike's tune since if it is lean like they say you should get good fuel milage but poor fuel milage usually means it is runing rich. I am waiting to hear from the general manager since I told the girl who called about my 1K service I wasn't happy with the bike and I also told the salesman as well so I will see what the manager says before I write to Harley about the poor milage and engine stumble.

Yeah, I wish I knew ya'll's secrets. I get a solid 40 mpg and that's about it.
A big part of that secret is 883 versus 1200. My mileage varies greatly, depending on the type of riding, and the weather (winter requires much longer time with the choke out).

I get between 45 & 65, but usually average right at 50 mpg.

Today, I was prolly getting good gas mileage, but the miles per Budweiser was terrible. It finally rained some here today. Just the "pop up" showers. So I was riding for 5 miles, then a cold bud, another 5 miles, another cold bud. Thankfully, I didnt' have far to get home, I would have been drunk.

I've gotten anything from 43 to 54 mpg, just depends on how and where I drive.

I've had mine range from 50 to 63 mpg. Its the best when I keep the crusing speed at 55 - 60. When I get up to 65 then it drops to the mid 50's for mpg. Makes a big difference if I am around town or out on the highway. Made a 450 mile run from NE to AR and got about 54 all the way running 70 to 80 all the way.

I jsut got 44MPG from the fill up last coming home from work. Seems like 40 and 44MPG is what I have been getting other than the one with 55MPG.

I stopped at an independent shop and the guy told me the same thing about my problems that the dealer said about the EPA making them run the engine real lean. He said after the warranty runs out he could put an S&S carb on and it would solve my problems. He also told me how to adjust the carb to make it run better. This would also up the fuel milage as well.

This sucks! Get my first Harley after riding import bikes for almost 40 years and now they don't run right because of emissions. Guess I will have to live with it for another year and a half until the warranty is over.
