Question Restricted Iron with aftermarket Air Cleaner

My 2016 Iron is currently restricted in order to Meet A2 license requirements within the UK (Limiting the BHP)
Is it possible to install an Aftermarket air cleaner despite the Iron being restricted? Would the restriction cause some problems with this?

Note: Currently have a pair of Aftermarket Cobra 3" slip-ons installed as well.

What's the maximum BHP limitation?

The replacement of the stock AC with a free flowing AC will minimally increase you BHP. But...since you are currently running aftermarket slip-ons, it will also necessitate a "tune" of your bike.

Why do you feel the need for the modification?

I would assume that the authorities determine compliance by stock bhp numbers provided by the bikes manufacturer, in this case HD. If they were dyno testing every bike, it would be an expensive procedure.

Do a search for Dyno test sheets for Stage 1, 883's. It is a minor bhp enhancement that peaks at rpms that are rarely maintained while street riding. If you had wanted a fast bike, HD comes in low on the list per cc. It is a cruiser, and a heavy one at that. Any 650cc metric bike will vanquish an 883 in the blink of an eye. Try and enjoy the bike for the riding experience, you're not going to win any races.

Do they even check your bike while restricted, or is the restrictor plate just a temporary device while you qualify for a further license? If you are worried, just buy the parts and wait till the authorities allow you to pull the restrictor out of the throttle body/carb throat. It's just a round washer with a smaller hole in the middle, like a doughnut, or fender washer. Be a hooligan, and take it out!!!

Or, just be patient until you can legally "unleash the hounds!"

If I'm doing the currency conversion right, you can experiment for about 10 pounds, not including breather bolts.
