Default Front Wheel bearings 79-83 hub

Found two double row 3/4" bore ball bearings that are made to fit 73-99 bearing socket that are .810" width.
What would be the pros & cons , using these two bearing in the narrow glide front hub with dual rotors?

Using a .040" shim on one side and cutting a 1"x .1/8" wall tube to proper length the bearings would be centered in the
hub, recessed ~ .050" below the rotor pilot.

Original hub was fitted with Timken type tapered roller bearings.
