Default Good News

As some of have probably already read from my posts earlier this week I was involved in a accident last Sunday and my Sportster was totaled. Today my wife had to take me to the Othopedist for a follow up vist for my Fractures. After the appointment I suggested to her that perhaps we should go to the dealer to look at new bikes. I had bad experiences with the Stealer I bought my Sporty from and went to a different dealer a little further from my house. Well the long and the short of it is we bought a 07 Superglide Dyna. Though I loved my sporty it really did not fit the type of riding we did mostly 2-up, my wife always felt the sporty was too small and though a Road King would have been really nice, with a few mods the Dyna will be fine. The salesman was amazed I was looking a new bikes so soon in my condition, arm in sling hobbleing around like a 80 year old man. I just could not stand seeing the empty spot in the garage where my sporty once sat. The bike has not been assembled yet still in crate and I will have to have a freind ride it home for me. Doctors sys it will be 4 weeks before my fractures heal, but at least I have something to look foward to. Thanks for all the thoughtfull replies you have given me. I guess my time is ending on the Sporter section. Thanks all

I probably should have waited. But even after just 5 days at home I am bored to death, sick of laying in bed until my back hurts then getting up and sitting in a chair until my a_s hurts. Waiting for my next dose of pain medication. At least now I can go through parts catalogs making lists of stuff I want to put on the new bike to kill time. Also know that empty parking spot in my garage will be filled very soon.

Man, my wife would forbid me to get a new bike after an accident like that. She already doesn't like me riding as it is.

I will know on Monday it seems so far like I will get my almost all of my initial down payment back after the bike is paid off. The only thing I am going to loose some money on is the accesories I had 1k of coverage and 1700 worth of stuff on the bike. I left the pipes dented, seat torn the air cleaner kit, grips and footpegs and the sissy bar docking hardware on the bike to get the 1k from insurance company, I had my wife take off the Skull ac insert, skull timing cover, derby cover and put the original covers back on and I kept the detachable sissy bar.

Your wife would "forbid" you?

Man, I'm truly not trying to be personally insulting to you, but in my humble opinion, Harley's aren't made for the type of guys who have to have permission from their wives to ride them.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the way I feel about it.

'Reminds me of that country song, "I'm gonna miss her"...
