I do have the manual and will now follow, it seemed so damn straight forward that I didn't even think to consult, lesson learned, I will take everything apart and try again, thanks for the advice!
Cheers,
Gary
TStephen probably has a point. I was thinking you loosened more.
I still think it's worth a try to follow the manual procedure.
Loosen everything up, and tighten everything up in the correct order.
What have you got to lose, besides a little time?
If it straightens out your problem, it's time well spent.
Oh - and let us know what you find.
so for sanity's sake, I've removed the speedo without releasing the trees just left the little slip on mount which weighs nothing and attaches, ultimately, to the heavy bezel that holds the heavy speedo.
if this vibration goes away, the culprit is the relocate kit! If that's the case I'll mount it to my front fuel tank bolt. If not, on to the manual and complete do over!
hey if it was easy, everyone would be doin it right?!
Thanks again guys, keep you posted tomorrow as to wtf may be happening.
Morning update, went for a ride 45/50mph, still got the shakes, I called into my local HD and set an appointment to comb through the bike, they said they can do it in an hour so thats $105 bucks to keep me sane.
Even if the guy says "you've got a motor attached directly to your frame, GET USED TO IT" lol
Its what I signed myself up for buying a used bike, but man is it pretty!
Call me crazy, im still wondering why you loosened the triples to slide the fork around to mount the speedo??
The clamp on the speedo mount opens up, and you just wrap it around the tube.
According to the instructions from Joker Machines, I had to drop the fork, the mount is solid and does not bend open that far, its a pinch mount, it would 100% break if I bent it open that much.
There are other units our there that are two piece, but this particular one is a one piece pinch mount that then screws into the speedo housing with signals right on the bezel.

Well - if you rode it before and it wasn't shaking that bad, then something happened.
Probably smart for you to bring it in.
My last bike was rigid mount, and yes, they vibrate.
Enough so that looking my mirrors I could see mostly just a blur.
But for yours, if it only started shaking that bad after you did the work, then something isn't right.
Hope you and them get it sorted out quickly.
Nice looking bike.
