Default Wife picked up an 883 Iron

in Hard Candy Hot Rod Red.....

This is her first real bike (had a Kawasaki Z125). She completed her new riders course a couple weekends ago. She test road a Switchback, Low Rider, Road King and 1200 Custom. I was shocked she was willing to test ride those bikes but she did real well on them. Ultimately she said she was most comfortable / confident on this bike and brought it home.

That's awesome. My wife has her license. Had 2 sportsters. But not a lot of riding experience. I was considering buying her one. But I need her to do the MSC again.

I'm a nervous wreck when she's riding. But not letting her ride is selfish I think.

Are you a bit uptight worried riding with her? Or is it me being over protective?

I can relate, my daughter wants to learn to ride. She is probably up for it, though i am not!

Congrats to you and your wife on the new ride!

My wife was already a rider when we first met, although I did encourage her to ride a 'proper' large bike, instead of a small one. We ride solos together, as well as 2-up and share driving our 4-wheelers.

A little nervous I guess but she did extremely well in class and is being very methodical in gaining experience

I have a friend who some years ago put his wife off riding. He was so protective and anxious he would never let her ride out on her own and 'coached' and commented at every opportunity. She gave up after a while. So relax man and give her plenty of space!

I am relaxed and being very supportive, did not mean anything to the contrary.
