I can tell you this, about a month ago the stock air shocks went south on my 07 Road King Police. I hesitated getting the 430s since they were priced lower than shocks I normally buy. I was amazed just how smooth and nice a ride I got from them. I was very pleased.

Most shocks are emulsion type, regardless of what name the brand gives them! It simply means the oil and gas inside the damper are mixed. Harley Touring air shocks are also emulsion, but use pressurised air as the main spring. Better shocks use separated oil and gas, in other words there is a diaphragm between the two.

I went from stock 11.75" 0n a 13 custom to 12.5" 430's big improvement. I have a 16 Roadster now, I am satisfied with the HD shocks, but my memory tells me the 430's were a little more plush.

I haven't seen any reports on the new Harley shocks yet.
Have not seen the length or amount of travel listed anywhere.

The Progressive 430 in 12.5 inch length have a stroke of 3.13 inches
the 13" 430s have 3.62 inches of travel.

You might also consider the Ohlins s36e shocks - $575.00
The 13 1/4" shocks have 4 1/8" of travel.

Also available from HDF sponsor Howard at Motorcycle Metal. He offers discounts to members and offers more options than even Ohlins themselves! I have Ohlins suspension front and rear on my Glide.
