Wow...hope you heal well. This is a reminder for us all that since we are always customizing and changing things on our bikes, we should remember to get used to the new stuff. Especially newly lowered bikes, new foot controls, etc. Be careful everyone.

Hey Man... the bike is just a little metal and rubber. The good news is that you will recover and live to fight another day.
Close encounters with the other world have a way of hanging a frame around the important things in life. Consider
yourself blessed. All my best wishes for the fastest, least painful recovery possible David.

. . .have no memory of accident, . . . My sporty is another story it is totaled front end is torn up bent front downtube on frame alot of scratches torn seat etc..
davidc, glad you are still with us. Prayers for a quick recovery.

I had a wreck last month that was somewhat similiar to yours (someone turned left across an intersection I was traveling through). Iwas fortunate and walked away with just general soreness.I too experienced a "black out" period but it was much shorter then yours.

And my sporty was totaled also, tubes bent, etc. I haven't replaced the bike yet but I really want to. Hopefully I'll get toin the next couple years.

Just wanted to share my similiar experience.

Sorry to hear about the accident.
On the plus side you are still around to leave the message on the forums.
Get well soon, keep us posted on your recovery.
The new bike will take place when you are ready.
Good luck...

I was in a accident on Sunday 6/3 it was pretty bad had to be air lifted to hospital have no memory of accident, I have a fractured pelvis and scapula and alot of servere brusing on my legs and bottom and 5 stiches in my left elbow. There was a good size impact mark on the forehead of my helmet they say I would have died without it. I am lucky that my injuries will all heal with time. My sporty is another story it is totaled front end is torn up bent front downtube on frame alot of scratches torn seat etc.. I guess once I heal and the insurace is paid out I will be looking for a new one.
Isn't modern medicine something else? An airlifted patient suffering from head trauma and fractures to the pelvic area with no rememberance of what happened due to a motorcycle rear-end collision is now posting up on his favorite forums three days later to let us all know he is ok. THREE FREAKIN DAYS.

Thanks for sharing what happened and being candid about it. I don't know about anyone else, but I learn something everytime one of biker brothern take a spill.

God Bless and prayers your way. Hope for a fast recovery. But take your time. The next ride on your new bike will be a little freaky. Mine was.
