i have a 09 nightster I just got. Wondering if I need to get all new cables for 12" ape hangers. I just saw a vid saying they only had to change the break line on the nightster. Looking for some advice. Thanks.

 

Depends you will diff need a new brake line and may need some cables as well.

 

Sort of thinking buy everything return what I don't need. Just wondering if anybody else has done this mod and had success with just changing the break line only..?

 

I did 10" on my Nightster. Had to change brake line only. Depending how wide your bars are, it may work with nothing else but some creative cable routing.

 

Cool thank you. I'll see trying as usual to save money. Any body put Vance and Hines straight shot slip ons on? I have screaming eagle mufflers now sounds good but looking for something a bit louder..

 

Yeah if you go above 10 is where the lines will get tight. I would check out the sportster pics and hit up anyone that has some apes and ask them what was needed. I have the short shots and they and deff louder then slip ons. you should be able to fine them cheap on the sales page or craigslist as they are around 440 and change NIB.
