Hello everybody, I`m a young design engineer and I plan to design a CAD model for 86-03 Sportster stock frame. For the accuracy of the model I need the real dimensions. Is there someone who can help me with this dimensions?
I already search on internet and on this forum for about a mouth, but i didn`t found them.
I found that in some repair manuals have this dimensions, but mine dosen`t have them.
Promise I`ll share my finale work.

Bogdan, I suspect you're going to have difficulty getting dimensional data. It is not information that H-D makes available. We've had members asking for drawings and dimensions in the past and I don't recall anyone having success. Now if you can find a real frame to measure up.....

 

Reason I pointed you in the direction, is if you reverse engineer some of the freely available frame jigs, motor mounts and etc, you can come up with your own dwg. I did the same thing a while back in CAD merging a Jframe/Evo idea.

 

Thank you guys, I think the solution to measure a real frame is the best. I thought that somebody already have the dimension which would speed up the process

 

It's possible someone has, but finding them would be like looking for a needle in a haystack! The MoCo doesn't let that info out and I suspect anyone who has gone to the effort of measuring a frame may do the same, especially if they have a commercial interest in protecting that data. Best of luck.
