Default Hammer 1275cc for street use??

Hey guys, I'm new on the forum i dont know the rules yet but I assume we just ask and everybody participate on the thread?

I'm thinking of getting the hammer 1275cc kit to replace the busted cylinders and pistons on my 2002 XLH1200, but I don't know if it's just for racing? Or will it work just fine as a powerful daily Rider on the city and the ocationally highway?? And what about longetivity??

Thanks,

I understand the 1275 kit is a recent replacement for the long running 1250 kit and there are plenty of members in here who have them. Use 'Search' for 1250 and you should find plenty of threads, including a few with details and photos of installing the kit.

According to Hammer, the 1275 kit has the same longevity and reliability as their 1250 kit, so it should be great for daily street use. I've only got a few hundred miles on my 1275 kit, so I can't speak to longevity.. but I can say I'm very happy with the product and performance. Just do it.

Dan loves you and your sportster. He wants you to use your 1275 on the street for many many years.

Is the extra heat and noise from the 1275 kit more noticeable?

I didn't notice a difference in heat or noise, but I wasn't paying attention to heat before I got the power vision, which came at the same time as the 1275 install.

Thank you for your help, but I'm in shock with the feedback I got from AAron at Hammer Performance, I explained to him how I damage my last cylinder (going to fast for to long basicaly) and he replied:

"Hi Chris, Given that you melted down the stock motor, I think we're going to pass on this.
Good luck,

Aaron Wilson
HAMMER PERFORMANCE"

Is this normal?? Or why would he pass on selling me a kit?? I'm just curious coz now I have a busted engine that needs to be fix and the best "Kit" of the market refuse to sell. Is there something Im missing here?? And since this happened WHAT OTHER OPTION YOU GUYS RECOMMEND?

My 1250 is louder because I put less restrictive mufflers on it. Around town and on back roads the oil temp never gets over 200. Ripping down the interstate at 75 to 80 mph it will get to 220 sometimes.

How about the engine, is it noisier than the usual sportster?

Its noisier because the 560 cams are noisier than stock W cams.
