Does a 2001 Sporster 1200 Custom have rubber engine mounts?
I was just wondering if this bike has rubber engine mounts to take care of the vibration from the engine? I heard that without rubber engine mounts this bike vibrates a lot and your hands will go numb after riding for a while... I think on the 883 sportster models this was added in 2004 to the 883 custom bikes. But I don't know about the sportster 1200 models?
also, is there much of a difference between a 2001 sportster 1200c and a brand new 2007 model.. besides fuel injection of course..

04 and up are rubber mounted for 883 or 1200
The only difference between a 2001 and a 2007 is rubber mounting and fuel injection
I own a 05 but I work at a cycle shop and ride older ones too. The vibration is not as bad as you would think and I have never had my hands go numb. If its a good deal you would be fine getting an 01. Hell from 1957 to 2003 they were not rubber mounted and people still rode them fine.

The 2001 is not rubber mounted. But don't let that steer you away from it. Before I bought mine (2001 XL1200C) I was also nervous about the vibration, but honestly it's not bad at all and I don't even notice it anymore.
In my opinion, 8k is a little high for the bike, but I don't know the specifics of what the seller added on. The guy I bought mine from was asking $6500 for it, I offered him $5,500, and I bought it for $5,600. It had V&H straightshots, S&S carb, 4.5gal tank, and only 2200 miles. You can always negotiate the price..
Hope this helped a little

I ride an ’01 Sport 1200 XLH. The vibrations aren’t bad. At a stop the bike vibrates a bit more but smoothes out at speedy. But I have never even thought at any point, “Dang this vibrates” except at stops and that I feel in the seat. They are great bikes. Go take a test ride and see.

I have an 02 1200 custom and the vibration is not as bad as everyone says, my hands stay awake with Carpel Tunnel problems. I bought my 02 a little over a month ago, from the stealership, with 2955 miles for just over $6k+ all their little add ons. It was chromed as the like...$8 sounds a little high to me?

The price you pay will depend on where you live. In some areas 2001 will sell for $7,500 and in others $ 3,500 and the similar for say an 06 except $9,000 and 6,000. Sometimes in colder seasonal climates the same bike is cheaper when it is cold and can command much more $$$ in season. You need to study what bikes are selling for in your area or be prepared to travel.
