SOLVED : Turn signal running light wont come on
Hey All - So me and my buddy started on my 12inch bar raise project today.
Had 6 inches stocks on my xl883l and moved them up to 12inch. Got the Burley kit, the gaskets, brake fluid and tranny fluid, and got to work.
After going through everything we ran into numerous issues, and I will be posting a few different threads as I am not sure if they are related. I would really appreciate some help here as I cannot ride my sporty until I figure these out.
The left turn signal running light wont come on unless I physically hit/tap the light housing. The turn signal function itself works fine, but if I want to have the running light operating I have to hit the housing a few times and then it comes on. This has to be repeated every time I start the bike again.
Has this ever happened to anyone?

Figured it out
Turns out the turn signal bulbs have two elements - one for the running light and one for the turn signal.
Turns out the running like element had broken, so it was not working upon start. Yet after hitting it a few times the vibration was enough to get the two separated pieces close enough to conduct, and thus create a path for the electricity to follow.
Leaving this up in case it can help someone out in the future.
