Default Getting Ready for the Season

It's finally starting to get nice here in the northeast, so it's about that time to bring my bike out from my basement and into my Cycle Shell outside.

I've always been paranoid about parts of the bike being up to par, important parts like bolts, motor mounts, and spokes and stuff. What do you guys, or what should I, go over and tighten down and make sure is good to go for the season? Is there an idiot checklist I should know about?

EDIT: Should I be concerned about rusted components? Bolts, nuts, etc. scattered over the bike.

Default Mechanical before aesthetics's

I would say that mechanical operation, clean fluids, no leaks, good tires, belt, lights working etc should be your priority. I have been riding a lot of years, 47, and I have had high mileage bikes, in areas like Florida and Hawaii, and by washing bike occasionally and wiping it down after a day of riding have never had a problem with rusted bolts.
