There's a reason real trail bikes have rear fenders and plenty of clearance between the fender and tire on both ends. That bike would get unpleasant real quick in mud, and likely end up laying on its side when the front wheel locked up. Other than that, he did nice work on it, would still be fun on dry ground. I'd guess in the last couple years he's found out what it can do.

To revive an old thread, I was wondering where you hid the electrics. My bike is a 2007 and the fuse panel is below the battery. I know where you hid your batteries, but what about fuses, etc? Or did the '87s not have the fuse panel?
AlsoI assume yours is a 4speed? How does that work out on the road, and off? I ASSUME you have finally gotten it on the road by now?
