Cool HELP! 2011 Harley Davidson Iron 883 , Front Brake Lever

hello, need some help with with my 2011 Harley Iron 883 , the front brake lever is completely stuck and will not move. Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone have any tips on how to fix this?

full disclosure: i have had this bike for 6 years and have probably rode it less than 2 years worth i think the lack of use caused this to happen.

i'm also looking to sell it if anyone is interested, i'm in the Miami area email at richard.moya72@gmail.com or private message on here. Reasonable offer accepted.

Define "stuck".

stuck as in will not depress when squeezed?

did anyone pour in fluid recently?

bike been dropped?

did you unscrew the cap on the master cylinder and look inside?

correct it will not depress when squeezed no matter how hard ive tried its completely unmovable.

the bike has not been dropped, it pretty much has been sitting for over a year without being used, not sure if that could be the issue.

i have not tried to unscrew the cap.

Ok, no worries.

take a look inside your master cylinder. Cover your tank with a towel or something first. If the fluid is in there swishing around, maybe consider trying to open the bleeder on your front caliper to see if you can get things moving.

do you know how to bleed your brakes? If it hasn't been done in 6 years, you are past due by 2 bleed intervals.

I'm assuming you alreay gave the lever a manly man squeeze.

if you know anyone interested in wanting to buy it let me know! perhaps someone else out there can enjoy it and give it the attention it deserves!

My Buell sat for 3 years without moving, the lever itself wasnt stuck but the brakes were frozen at first, the fluid has spoiled.
Either there is an issue with your MC, or the lever it self has somehow rusted in place? either way a very simple fix. even with a worst case scenario, master cylinders inexpensive to replace as a whole.

I would fix (or have a shop fix) the front brake as it will be ALOT easier to sell for a reasonable amount if its a running and driving bike. I would have them start by just flushing the fluids (both front and rear brakes) and changing the oil and fuel if its been sitting long.

Once its up, you will probably be able to get current market value. Sounds like its gonna be a low mile bike...

If you try and sell it as is, someones gonna low ball the crap out of you. If you have a good running bike again, who knows... maybe you will fall back in love with it? But a stuck brake lever is a simple problem to troubleshoot and repair (or have repaird by a shop)
