Question short chaps

Has anyone on the forum using the short chaps, the ones that go from boot ankle to knee and if so are they happy with them and if not why. Thanks in advance for any opinions. I already have the full chaps but find them hot and uncomfortable.

I'm not sure if this is the common name for them, but here's an item called "spat chaps", if you decide to go that route: http://www.coloradochaps.com/motorcycle_spats.html

I have a pair of 1/2 chaps. Leather that run from ankle to just above knee. I like them, use them occasionally in in between temps. I wear my full chaps more often though. The 1/2 chaps are nice in low 50 degree wx.
Make sure you try them on and get a pair that fits you with your riding boots on. I noticed a variation in sizes. I tried a couple pair before I found a pair that fit me. I got mine from J&P Cycle

i have an 18 inch pair (takes 6+ weeks) they will make you whatever you want..... and chippewa 17" engineers. no one will know you have on male stripper boots if your pants cover them. wind, cold, heat, debris, etc.. will be dealt with by the boots. they are my go to for long trips... that and leather jeans.

Thanks to sailmotion, and harleyrider4300 and cvaria for their input. I have never heard of spat chaps made of ballisic nylon. Thanks for the different suppliers as well. I will check them out
