Default Auxiliary Brake Light/Turn Signal Conversion Kit

OK, my first mod...............what do you think?

I installed the Harley Davidson 68286-04.

The rear turn signals are now red and theylight up very bright when the brakes are applied.

I know amber turn signals are more of an attention getter. But I figure, Ihave bettera chance of not getting hit when they know I am slowing down. When you change lanes, you are in control of when, whereand how (usually).

The mod was very easy. Only had to remove the seat (one screw) and the left side cover to temporarily remove the fuse. Getting the cover off was a pain. After I followed all of the directions, I think the fuse can be removed without removing the left cover. The wires and module simply click into the turn signal wiring under the seat.

The only thing I wish and thought it would have done, was give me running lightsso they would be dim (light taillight) all of the time.

The lights kinda look orange on my computer.....if yours too......sorry....

I like the idea of having all the rear lights come on when stopping.
As far as turn signals being amber, I think of front turn signals being amber, and rear ones being red.
Don't worry though, the idiots out there that you're trying to alert by doing this, won't notice you anyway I think the best way to get their attention is to pump the brakes so the lights flash a couple times, like a cop coming or something. That seems to get their attention, especially in the day light when they're less apt to notice lights.
Looks fine.

I had to wait a year before the MoCo made a Run/Turn/Brake Module for the '05's, I waited and installed it a couple months ago, three lights in th back sure make ya more noticable.

Looks great, I am thinking to do the same. Either a led lay back low profile tail light or that.

Yeah one of the first mods I did ... get caught at work late sometimes .. the wife said I had to do something .. she said "you look like a dot going down the rode at night and if you get too far away, I cant see you at all." So I lit myself up with this mod and reflective tape aroung 3/4 ... hell heres a pic ...

Very nice..I have the low profile Kuryakin smoked lens with LEDS..it looks good when the bike is sitting but it's also bright as he** when the bike is running.

The red looks great though - I sometimes wonder if I should have stayed with the red for tradition and looks...anyway, I think you made a great choice.

I did mine this afternoon, 3 lights instead of one, much brighter. I didn't know the running light is part of it running half volts, that's a bonus! I like the idea people can see you better in the dark.
