RE: Nightster
Could not be happier. But you have to think about your use for the bike. I wanted a commuter -45 miles daily- something fun for the Poker runs etc, but also something I could get great gas mileage out of and when necessary throw on a few comfy mods (Shield, rack, bag) and still get by on the interstate. Any 1200 would fit that bill. But the Nightster just pulled me in.

My first post! I'm a newbie 07 1200 Custom owner as of last week, loving every minute of it!
Anyways, the only thing I would caution about the nightster is if you plan on carrying a passenger some time in the future, along with a seat you are going to require new rear shocks. I found this in my owners manual and was surprised by it. Other than that it's a beauty.

Couldn't disagree more. I wouldn't own a Harley today if it wasn't for the Nightster. The big bikes were more than I wanted to spend and the other sporties did nothing for me. Don't take it the wrong way, just my opinion.

I agree, the other sporties although are real nice bikes, just don't appeal to me. I like all the bells and wistles like the plate holder and stop turn tails. yeah i can buy the stop turn tail kit for another model sporty but then i would have the brake light. In short it's the little things I love about this bike. Oh and while I'm here I'd like to say the rims sold me. I tried getting a set laced up and added to an 883 before the nightster came out and the stealership said they can't do it, then the nightster apeared and I went right down and signed the papers. Just do it!!!
