DK External breather bolts

the washers need to be used you may have more issues if you bracket is being stressed/flexed on your throttle body screws to account for the missing washers.. had a 587 no issues, and now a 425 no issues. unless the newer 2016's have different spacing i don't see how your 48 would be different from mine or any other newer sporty

Went different design
Went with these baffles when installed air filter setup . Also eliminated catch can completely replumbed vent line back to oil bag then made breather for cap on tank filler . Then ran a 3/8 clear line up through frame tube to midway and installed one way breather to release pressure and not allow water or other to enter. Previous Bike had problem with oil leaking at catch can and vent bottom bike was not happy that scenario so just experimented with different systems , came up this one and has been trouble free and no oil residue at all. Now this is service! ! !
Rusty, get a grip, install as required by the manufacturer bud.
Expect the unexpected.
You may have a difficult engine and thus may need something more than a simple fix, these caps are very simple, you may need to vent under the engine due to extreme ring gap or old, failing rings for some reason.
To check, put your finger over the vents while riding.
1. If your finger come off blue the pistons and all are working properly.
2. If you finger comes off black, oily etc you have a vent issue.
Cheers,
.

Took everything apart and re-installed it again. This time using the washers. Used blue loc tite on all threads again. Didn't have the rite tool to get those little C-clips out to add the additional filter on the bolts/didn't want to damage it trying to make a tool work. Took it for a quick spin around the neighborhood but not really a long enough ride to let it get up to full temp but everything looks good so far.

Glad it worked out.

Unfortunately, its the nature of the beast. Some bikes just have more blow by than others. I loved the look of the breathers but nothing I tried eliminated the mist. Around town I had none, but at highway speeds I would get the mist you describe. I ended up going with my own version of this to keep the pipes and covers clean. http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/Prem...IS-BRT-SPT.htm
