No way! My 06 883R is my3rd Sporty over the years. It is the defination of classic styling. Form & Function. When you look up motorcycle in the dictionary there should be a picture of a Sportster. I also have a 07 FXDC. I love em both but the Sportster is my favorite bike of all time. I am so glad I keep the Sportster when I bought the FX...I've been kickin around bikes my whole life...Had em all. Jap...English...German....Italian...They all do what they do...but for me...since the 90's Harley has really nailed it...they are reliable...leakfree...handle beautiful...The Sportster...50 plus years...who else can make that claim.

One who knows..

I have no regrets at all.

Might I suggest that since you have such an appetite for power get either a Vrod,Hayabusa,ZX-14 or Vmax. Or if you must have a cruiser style bike get a Triumph Rocket III. No other cruiser can touch it for speed. It does'nt sound like a Harley is what you really want or need. Good luck.

No regrets on my Sportster. Over 30K in two years w/o a problem. Been in Rolling Thunder 3 times. Cruised to the Outer Banks of NC from Northern Maryland and back in one day. No problem (except that I was verrrrry tired after going over 600miles in a day).I have a 2005 883XCL.
I am SO glad to hear this! I posted maybe a couple weeks ago about not being sure about my new 883Low(after owning a Suzuki Intruder 800). Well, I have now "fallen in love", and the more I ride it and get used to it, the more I know I made the right decision for me. I HAVE been wondering about how it will be on a long trip, so it's good to hear some feedback.

No regrets whatsoever. Previously a Jap sports bike enthusiast. Bought a Sportster XL1200L after drooling over H-D's for years. Spent 6 weeks with the stock machine and have now added quite a few personal touches. Have just installed a Sundowner, sissy bar, rack, bag and new pegs. What was great has now just gotten better. Now, more practical for commuting and more comfortable for taking one of my girls (wife and daughter - both love the bike btw) out for a spin. Happy as a pig in s**t.
