The VROD has its place and fast is where it is at. Your bike is a different animal. No need to feel bad.

What did you expect. The V-Rod has over 100 horses and is the fastest stock production Harley made. It's final drive doesn't even go below a 4 to 1 ratio; kinda like a muscle car of the 60's with a 4:11 rear end. That's why it's called a "rod," as in hotrod.

basically a sport bike with harley stamped on the side. Go figure that it's a little fast.

My friend has an 06 Night Rod, and that thing is fast.......but me and my Nighty smoke his *** in the twisties.......I would take a better handling bike in the twisties than a fast bike in the straights anyday. Anyone can go fast in a straight line, but its a different game in twisties...

Vegas, Mike....

V-rods are fast. They do 11's stock. A sportster should be able to take a V-rod off the line, but then it's all V-rod.

AV-Rod can't hold a candle to most sportbikes.

I watched (from behind) a coworker on a Yamahaha R1 and a guy I've seen around town on a Street Rod (VRod 'sport' bike) take off from a light and go down a mile of clear road to the next light. The R1 smoked him and then braked, hung a knee dragging left and cleared the intersection before the Street Rod got there.

You're absolutely right.
How does a 120hp/600lb bike compete with a 178rwhp/380lb bike?

That being said, I'd buy a VRod rather than an R1/R6/Gixxer/CBR etc. The riding position feels like you're set up to hump the bike, not ride it. Maybe it's just me...
