Exclamation '13 Sportster's engine won't start!

Hello!

The bike was bought back in '13 and rarely being used, it only has 978 KM. Bought it back in Middle East when I was residing there. It then has been cargo-shipped to my home country. It roughly takes up to 3-4 Months. Since it is still low on Mileage, not much servicing has been done yet.

Before the shipping, I unplug the Main Fuse from the battery as it was recommended by the shipping Company. Both Negative and Positive cable were and still connected.

Now that the Main Fuse is plugged in, the first time I start the engine it went off just fine. However, few days after that it only shows light indicators on the dial. A quick start from ignition, the engine started up and then cutted off while the indicator and headlights still lights up. Tried again, the engine won't start again. It only gives out a very rapid "ticking" sound (as I press the ignition switch) I believe near the battery, it could be the starter?

I've run and read through the manual, I believe it has something to do with the Battery. Could it be possible of Weak Battery? Since it hasn't been charged for the last 4-5 Months?

What would be your opinion? What would you consider me to do?

Many thanks in advance!

Kiren

The best way to describe the "rapid ticking" would be in this video I found on YouTube, apologies for the "foul language" from the Youtuber.

Sounds like you already have it figured out. Charge the battery.... When ever you store it for a long period of time with the fuse in or out. Use a battery tender or put it on a charger before trying to start your bike.
